Here in Georgia we are suffering from a severe -- "only four months of water left!" -- drought, but according to the little country church near my mother's house, things could be much worse.
This church has been a source of delight and consternation for me for several years -- I always look forward to reading their sign and I'm usually stunned by what I read. While today's sign certainly doesn't reflect the spirit of thankfulness and fellowship that I have felt on this holiday, it is tame in comparison to some of the more memorable things that have been posted in the past -- "Parents - Stop Lying to Your Children! There is no Santa Claus!," "All Homosexuals and Whoremongers Have AIDS and Deserve to Die," and (my favorite?) "Shakespeare, Darwin, Faulkner - Book Burning Sunday at 2:00."
All in all, my holiday was a great one, spent with my mother, my siblings, my niece and nephews, and assorted aunts, cousins, and taggers-along. I've brought home a few of my personal favorites from today's spread -- dressing, a surprisingly delicious congealed cranberry sauce-blackberry Jello, Mama's homemade pimento cheese, some strawberry cake, and a couple of slices of pumpkin cheesecake.

Glad you are alive online again! I missed ya!
Something tells me that they bulldozed over Dixie Chicks CDs at that church, too. :)
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was good, too. I plan to post about it later today.
(I made Paula's Gooey Butter Cake, the pumpkin version. Delicious!)
I don't know about the Dixie Chicks Bulldozing, but...this church does often stage protests outside the Catholic church in LaGrange.
Paula's Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake is one of the best dessert creations ever.
buhlesssss...I am SOOOOO glad you are BACK!!!!!!!...at least the church sign was spelled correctly, down here in SOOOUUTTTHHH GA, home of some of the worst church-going spellers ever, we get some pretty interesting signs ourselves...I am literally GIDDY that you are back..and how 'bout our very own Miss GA alum taking the USA crown???
